Job summary

Intermountain Health seeks a Patient Access Registrations Specialist I to support patient intake, registration, and scheduling with a focus on accuracy and customer service. You will collect demographics, verify insurance, and collect payments while guiding patients through financial assistance options.

The role requires exceptional organization, ability to multitask in a high-volume setting, and adherence to privacy regulations. PRN scheduling may include early mornings and weekends.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office, internet and email required.
• Experience with Epic preferred.
• Customer service experience in healthcare is required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients and visitors professionally.
• Verify patient demographics, financial and insurance information.
• Register and schedule patients for appointments and tests.
• Collect co-pays and balances at time of service.
• Provide information on financial assistance and payment plans.
• Explain and obtain signatures on consent forms and disclosures.
• Provide directions and parking information.
• Coordinate with staff to ensure smooth patient flow.
• Document and update patient records in the EHR.
• Follow up on pending items like authorizations and referrals.
