Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree or progress toward degree preferred.
• 1+ years of customer service required.
• 2+ years of customer service or healthcare preferred.
• Exceptional communication with patients and providers.
• Ability to multitask and handle interruptions.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Problem-solving for scheduling conflicts and missing documentation.
• Attention to detail for accurate patient information.
• Compassion and PHI confidentiality awareness.
• Basic knowledge of electronic health records and medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Check patients in and out in a professional, friendly manner.
• Answer calls, respond to questions, and help schedule appointments.
• Assist patients with enrolling in and using MyChart.
• Enter, update, and verify patient demographics, insurance, and billing data.
• Communicate information to providers and care teams.
• Contact insurers to resolve coverage or billing questions.
• Collect copays, coinsurance, and outstanding balances.
• Assist patients with completing forms and required documentation.
• Work with EPIC workqueues and inbasket messages.
• Schedule referrals and follow-up appointments.
• Scan and upload documents into EPIC.
