Job summary

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking a Patient Access professional to collect demographic and financial information, verify insurance, and support billing and scheduling. The role requires accurate data entry, strong communication, and the ability to work across departments to ensure smooth patient flow.

You will interact with patients, families, physicians, and insurers, handling multiple tasks while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in healthcare or related clerical, accounting, or customer service.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education may be considered in lieu of experience.
• Familiarity with medical terminology is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain demographic and financial information from patients and families; ensure forms meet regulatory requirements.
• Enter data for registration, billing, patient tracking, charge capture, and reconciliation.
• Verify insurance coverage and/or obtain necessary authorizations.
• Explain financial requirements and collect deposits/ductions as needed.
• Assist with scheduling, chart creation, and release of information.
• Support daily office operations and interdepartmental communication.
