Job summary

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking a Patient Access Specialist to support registration, insurance verification, and billing processes across multiple locations. You will interview patients, collect demographics, enter data, verify coverage, and explain financial requirements while delivering exceptional service.

This PRN role requires flexibility, including some evenings or weekends, and may involve travel to support operations.

Qualifications

• 1 year of healthcare or related clerical, accounting, or customer service experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education may be considered in lieu of experience.
• High school diploma required; CPAR/CHAA beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with patients, families, physicians, clinical staff, and insurance companies to obtain information and insurance verification.
• Interviews patients and families to obtain complete demographic and financial information and ensures forms are completed.
• Enters data into system for registration, billing, patient tracking, charge capture, and reconciliation.
• Verifies insurance coverage and/or validates authorizations as applicable.
• Explains regulatory financial requirements to patient or responsible party and collects deposits as needed.
• Assists Patient Accounting by ensuring accurate data for clean claims and minimal denials.
