Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Patient Access Representative who will be the first contact for patients, assisting with scheduling, registration, benefit verification, pre-certification and financial clearance. You will ensure accurate patient data entry across Mercy systems and uphold Mercy Service Standards.

The role requires 1-3 years of clerical and customer service experience, knowledge of medical terminology and insurance plans, and a high school diploma (some college helpful).

Qualifications

• 1–3 years clerical and customer service experience preferred.
• Experience with medical terminology and insurance plans preferred.
• High School diploma required; some college helpful.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate scheduling, registration, benefit verification, and pre-certification and financial clearance.
• Ensure accurate patient data is obtained and populated into the patient record.
• Maintain knowledge of insurance carriers, Medicare guidelines and related regulations.
