Job summary

Mercy seeks a Patient Access Representative who will be the first point of contact for patients entering Mercy facilities. You will assist with scheduling, registration, benefit verification, pre-certification and financial clearance, ensuring accurate data entry and compassionate service.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of clerical or customer service experience, familiarity with medical terminology and insurance plans, and a high school diploma (some college helpful).

Qualifications

• 1-3 years clerical experience and customer service experience preferred.
• Experience with medical terminology and insurance plans preferred.
• High School diploma required; some college helpful.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate the patient's entrance into Mercy facilities, including scheduling, registration, benefit verification, pre-certification and financial clearance.
• Obtain and populate accurate patient data into the record while maintaining knowledge of insurance carriers and guidelines.
