Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health (BILH) is seeking a Patient Access Representative to support efficient patient registration, scheduling, and financial counseling across the system. The role involves handling patient questions, co-pays, and insurance verification in a fast-paced environment, with emphasis on accuracy, confidentiality, and first-call resolution.

Responsibilities include registering patients, processing payments, completing eligibility checks, obtaining signatures, and guiding patients

Qualifications

• Education: High school degree or equivalent. Associate degree preferred.
• Experience: 1-3 years related work experience.
• Experience with computer systems including web-based applications and Microsoft Office.
• Able to work in a fast-paced, multi-task environment and process electronic information accurately.
• Preferred: Call Center or telephone customer service, strong typing, medical terminology, bilingual, familiar with EHR.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and explain the registration process.
• Process payments and reconcile cash drawer daily.
• Complete Medicare Secondary Payer Questionnaire.
• Obtain signatures on consent and financial documents; file and scan documents.
• Counsel patients on non-covered services and ABNs.
• Maintain neat, secure registration area and protect patient information.
• Support scheduling and pre-registration processes.
