Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health (BILH) seeks a Patient Access Representative to ensure efficient, welcoming registration and accurate insurance data for clinical services. You will assist patients via in person, phone, or digital channels, and support scheduling with clinical departments.

Key duties include collecting demographics, processing payments, verifying eligibility in real time, and guiding patients through financial clearance with professionalism and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; an associate’s degree is preferred.
• A minimum of 1–3 years related work experience and experience with computer systems including web-based applications and MS Office.
• Able to work in a fast-paced, multi-task environment and process electronic information accurately.

Responsibilities

• Registers patients presenting for visits and explains the registration process.
• Processes patient co-payments, deductibles, balances due and reconciles cash drawer daily.
• Completes Medicare Secondary Payer Questionnaire and adjusts coverage.
• Instructs patients and obtains signatures on consent/financial forms; scans and records documents.
• Counsels patients regarding non-covered services; handles ABNs, consents and waivers.
• Monitors waiting area and ensures a pleasant patient experience; maintains confidentiality.
