Job summary

Penn Medicine is seeking a Patient Services Associate to join the Patient Access team. This role focuses on front-end patient interactions, appointment scheduling, and insurance/billing updates within EPIC.

The PSA supports a high standard of patient-centered care in a fast-paced hospital setting. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, experience in medical office environments, and the ability to handle multiple tasks with accuracy and empathy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with 2+ years medical office or 4 years customer service experience.
• Experience with EPIC scheduling/registration and EMR systems.
• Strong English communication and customer service skills; ability to work in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Greets and assists patients in person or by phone in a professional manner.
• Schedules patient appointments and manages related tasks in EPIC.
• Updates patient insurance/billing information and performs point-of-service activities.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and ensures safety and security of patient data.
• Communicates with clinical staff to coordinate patient flow and care.
