Job summary

Penn Medicine is seeking a PRN Patient Services Associate to support patient-focused care in a 12-hour day shift (7a–7:30p). The PSA assists with patient arrivals, calls, appointment scheduling, EMR updates, and front-end cash handling in a dynamic clinical setting.

Requires Epic Certifications and EPIC schedgistration training, HS Diploma/GED, and an Associate degree or 4+ years of customer service experience. PRN shifts require a minimum of 1 shift every 2 weeks.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones and route patient requests and inquiries according to department protocols.
• Reflect and act on patient needs, manage service recovery, and escalate issues as needed.
• Schedule patient appointments by visit type, ensuring proper location and reminders.
• Handle patient check-in/check-out, collect copays, update insurance and EMR data.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance requirements and front-end processes.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and adapt to process changes.
