Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health seeks a Patient Access Representative for Outpatient and Emergency departments in Beverly, MA. Evening shift 3:00pm-11:30pm; part-time 24 hours per week.

You will register patients, collect payments, and coordinate with clinical staff to ensure a smooth patient experience. Responsibilities include scheduling, pre-registration, verifying insurance, and communicating with patients about financial clearance.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
• Experience in call center or patient access is desirable.
• Proficiency with basic computer systems and Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and explain the registration process.
• Process co-pays, co-insurance, deductibles and balances due.
• Assist patients with Kiosk check-in as needed.
• Complete Medicare Secondary Payer Questionnaire and adjust coverage.
• Obtain signatures on consent and financial documents; scan and file.
• Counsel patients on non-covered services; ABNs and waivers.
• Monitor waiting area; maintain a smooth registration flow and confidentiality.
• Initiate scheduling from multiple sources and manage appointments.
• Verify insurance coverage and apply guarantor to each visit.
• Communicate financial clearance status and coordinate with Financial Counseling.
