Job summary

Emerus is seeking a Patient Access Specialist in the Kelly area of Texas to serve as a liaison between patients, payers and the care team. The position involves collecting demographic and insurance information, validating coverage and securing out-of-pocket payments to maximize hospital reimbursement.

You will handle patient registration, insurance verification, and consents, while delivering superior customer service and maintaining accurate medical records in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of patient registration and insurance verification experience preferred.
• Knowledge of EMTALA, HIPAA and hospital regulations advantageous.
• Fluency in English required; Spanish is a plus in certain markets.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and verify demographic and insurance information.
• Verify insurance benefits and obtain authorizations as needed.
• Pursue collections at time of service while maintaining customer service.
• Schedule, triage and route patients to appropriate departments.
• Maintain accurate patient records and confidential information.
