Job summary

MedStar Health’s Washington Hospital Center in Maryland is hiring a Patient Access representative at Franklin Square Medical Center to register patients, verify insurance, collect demographics, and guide families through the registration and billing process to support accurate accounts and prompt payments.

You will work day shift with rotating weekends, using Cerner, IDX and other systems to ensure compliant, efficient service and a positive community image.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Working knowledge of various computer software applications and basic computer skills.
• Demonstrates dependability and problem-solving abilities to improve department efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients, families and visitors and collects demographic and financial information.
• Registers patients and enters data for billing and tracking.
• Reviews insurance information, obtains authorizations, and explains financial responsibilities.
