Job summary

Patient First is seeking a front desk/office assistant to support patient flow, billing queries, and registration processes at one of our Maryland centers. The associate will handle cash, patient data, and insurance information with care and efficiency.

Responsibilities include directing patients, operating the EMR system, and coordinating with clinical staff to ensure smooth center operations while maintaining high service standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of clerical experience preferred.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Excellent typing, communication and multitasking skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients using the kiosk prior to registration.
• Escort patients needing emergency care to the treatment area for registration and evaluation.
• Respond to Physician and Nurse requests promptly.
• Explain billing policies for insurable and non-insurable charges as needed.
• Register patients accurately with customer service and compassion.
• Verify patient demographics, health, pharmacy, and insurance details.
• Answer billing questions and provide itemized statements on request.
• Refer billing questions to appropriate parties when needed.
• Handle cash and issue receipts for visits and services.
• Discharge patients and process incurred charges.
