Job summary

MedStar Health at Georgetown University Hospital, Imaging Services, is seeking a patient access assistant to support front desk operations and patient flow. You will verify insurance, register patients, schedule appointments, and handle billing transactions in the hospital’s scheduling and billing systems.

The role requires accurate data entry, excellent communication, and adherence to privacy and regulatory standards. The position is full-time, on-site, with Monday–Friday hours.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience with medical terminology and front desk duties preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check-in patients; verify demographics and insurance information.
• Schedule and coordinate appointments; verify referrals and pre-certifications.
• Process payments and balance cash receipts daily.
• Maintain accurate patient records in the EHR and scheduling systems.
• Assist with front desk duties and ensure smooth patient flow.
