Job summary

Providence Medical Center in Basehor, KS is seeking a Patient Service Representative to interview patients, collect demographics, verify insurance, and assist with scheduling visits. The role includes greeting patients, handling calls, and coordinating clinic processes in a full-time, day-shift setting (8:00am – 4:30pm).

The position requires data entry accuracy, familiarity with medical terminology, and strong customer service skills to support the PMG – Westglen GI team.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a medical setting preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Customer Service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interviews the patient or representative to obtain identifying and basic demographics for upcoming visits.
• Schedules patients in their clinic and assists with scheduling in others.
• Verifies insurance coverage, collects co-pays and prior balances; reconciles and prepares deposits; troubleshoots billing issues.
• Greets and checks in patients; handles all incoming calls and routes to appropriate staff or initiates messages.
• Coordinates clinic business processes such as supply ordering, sales calls, record release, fax and mail processing.
• Operates a computer to input/retrieve data; communicates with patients and staff using age-appropriate techniques; maintains proficiency in medical terminology.
