Job summary

Prime Healthcare is seeking a Patient Service Representative for PMG – Westglen GI in Basehor, KS. You will interview patients or their representatives to collect demographics and prepare for visits, and you will help schedule appointments across clinics.

You will verify insurance, collect co-pays and balances, and assist with billing issues, while greeting patients, handling calls, and routing to staff. A medical terminology background is preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a medical setting, preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• Customer Service experience preferred.

• Schedules patients in their clinic and assists with scheduling them in others
• Verifies insurance coverage, collects co-pays and prior balances from patients, reconciles and prepares deposits, and troubleshoots billing issues
• Greets and checks in patients and handles all incoming phone calls and routes to appropriate staff or initiates messages
• Coordinates clinic business processes such as supply ordering, sales calls, record release, fax and mail processing
• Must be able to: (1) operate a computer to accurately input and retrieve data; (2) communicate with the population served, staff, and providers utilizing age specific techniques; (3) maintain proficiency in medical terminology; (4) project a positive and helpful attitude.

Location: PMC Basehor, Leavenworth, KS.

We are seeking a Patient Service Representative, internally referred to as Patient Access Representative or Patient Registration Clerk, at our PMG – Westglen GI. As a Patient Service Rep, you interview the patient or his/her representative to obtain identifying and basic demographics to prep for upcoming visits.
