Qualifications

• 1-3 years clerical and customer service experience preferred.
• High School diploma required; some college helpful.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and excellent telephone etiquette.
• Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with patients, physicians, clinical and non-clinical staff and insurance companies.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under stress, meet deadlines and maintain high accuracy.
• Knowledgeable with various computer systems; able to use a 10-key calculator and keyboard.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate patient entrance into Mercy facilities, including scheduling, registration, benefit verification, pre-certification and financial clearance.
• Ensure the most accurate patient data is obtained and entered into the patient record.
• Represent Mercy with high standards of customer service, compassion and service excellence.
