Mercy is seeking a Patient Access Representative who serves as the first point of contact for patients, upholding Mercy Service Standards with compassion and professionalism. The role facilitates entrance into Mercy facilities and coordinates scheduling, registration, and financial clearance.

Responsibilities include ensuring accurate patient data, understanding insurance carriers and guidelines, and maintaining excellent service to patients, physicians, and hospital staff.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years clerical and customer service experience preferred.
• Experience with medical terminology and insurance plans preferred.
• High School diploma required; some college helpful.

Responsibilities

• Assist patient entrance into Mercy facilities including scheduling and registration.
• Verify benefits, pre-certification, and financial clearance.
• Ensure accurate patient data in records; maintain data accuracy with insurers.
• Communicate with patients, physicians, and staff.
