Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is seeking a Patient Access Representative in the Puget Sound region. You will manage patient intake, verify demographics and insurance, collect payments, schedule appointments, and process referrals and authorizations.

This role requires strong customer service, knowledge of billing and medical terminology, and the ability to navigate electronic medical records to ensure a seamless check-in experience for every patient.

Qualifications

• 1 year of customer service experience required.
• Knowledge of insurance, billing and medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Registers and/or checks patients in/out.
• Performs patient check-in at the time of visit; records and verifies all demographic, insurance and other information; follows procedures to satisfy registration requirements.
• Conducts routine insurance eligibility verifications.
• Copies/scans patient access related materials into the EMR.
• Records non-clinical charges from various sources.
• Handles and reconciles payments.
