Job summary

Oswego Health is seeking a Tier 1 Patient Access Representative to gather demographic and insurance information for preregistration and registration across multiple sites.

The role involves communicating with physician offices, patients, and staff to ensure compliant admissions, financial policies are explained, and self-pay accounts are collected when applicable. Proficient data entry and EMR use are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Data entry ability of 35 WPM and basic clerical/office skills.
• Experience in customer service with strong communication is required.
• 1 year in customer service and/or medical office setting preferred.
• Familiarity with ABN, precertification, ICD10 coding, CPT codes is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with patients and families to provide information and resolve complaints.
• Coordinate with physician offices and health care teams to ensure timely, accurate information flow.
• Perform third party verification and payer eligibility checks.
• Initiate service authorizations and record data for billing and case management.
• Process registrations, collect payments, and handle cashiering duties.
