Job summary

OrthoNY is seeking a Patient Access Representative to greet patients and collect registration information, ensuring a smooth check-in and billing workflow across our clinics.

In this role, you will answer phones, verify insurance, enter data into the EMR/PM system, collect copays, and coordinate with care teams to support timely visits. Excellent customer service and strong organization are required in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; some higher education preferred.
• Knowledge of medical insurances preferred.
• Experience with EMR/PM systems required.
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organized with attention to detail.
• Able to multi-task in a high-volume environment.
• Valid driver’s license and vehicle for travel

Responsibilities

• Prepare appointments for the following day to ensure data accuracy, including required fields, forms, eligibility, and insurance responsibility.
• Greet patients promptly and professionally.
• Professionally answer incoming phone calls.
• Review data/forms with patients to ensure accurate EMR records.
• Collect copayments and balances.
• Operate the practice management system per standards from supervision.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely processing of patient information.
• Reconcile daily payments with system batches and prepare reports.
• Schedule follow-up tests and appointments as needed.
• Print or send handouts to patients and ensure HIPAA compliance.
