Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CPR/BLS Certification - AHA/ARC within 30 days (Required) and First Aid - AHA/ARC within 30 days (Required).
• 2 years Medical Clerical experience preferred and 2 years Behavioral Health Care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates excellent customer service in person or via telephone for referrals for assessment or admission to the hospital.
• Completes pre-admission and admission data including intake and EMTALA/patient tracker logs.
• Works with patients, referral sources, and law enforcement to ensure documentation is signed and completed.
• Serves as an initial contact for patients and families seeking intervention or support.
• Greets persons upon arrival and supports supervision and comfort of persons.
• Completes insurance verifications, pre-certifications and authorizations for reimbursement from carriers.
• Performs valuables and contraband search documentation for admission preparation.
• Identifies process improvement opportunities to improve efficiency and coordination across departments.
• Monitors patient safety with rounds and safety checks and coordinates patient transports.
