Job summary

Advocate Health seeks a part-time registration/billing support in Chicago to handle patient check-in, collect insurance information, and explain financial responsibilities. The role includes HIPAA compliance, strong customer service, and on-site duties during third shift with training full-time for about four weeks.

On-site training will run 7:00–15:30 or 8:00–16:30; after training, duties include accurate data capture, payment collection, and assisting patients and staff in a high-volume

Qualifications

• HIPAA compliant and able to handle confidential data.
• Excellent customer service and communication under pressure.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clerical health-care setting.

Responsibilities

• Create initial electronic health record to prevent duplicates and ensure patient safety.
• Register patients, collect demographics, insurance, and co-pays.
• Explain financial responsibilities to patients and refer to Financial Advocates when needed.
• Coordinate appointments, test prep instructions, and arrival guidance.
• Provide exceptional customer service and greet patients and visitors.
• Manage EHR work queues and follow department processes.
