Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Registration Clerk for a 36-hour night shift schedule, 7p–7a, 3 days per week. You will create and manage the patient’s electronic health record, verify demographics and insurance, and collect co-pays while maintaining HIPAA compliance.

You will also assist patients with appointment scheduling, provide clear test and arrival instructions, and deliver top‑notch customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate required.
• No prior experience necessary for this role.
• Ability to work in a high profile and high stress area.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Creates the initial electronic health record foundation and ensures patient safety identifiers.
• Checks in and registers patients; collects demographics, guarantor and insurance information; handles co-pays.
• Discusses financial obligations with patients; refers to Financial Advocates when needed.
• Maintains HIPAA privacy and follows regulatory requirements.
• Schedules appointments and communicates test preparations and arrival guidelines.
• Provides welcoming, professional service and assists patients with requests.
• Monitors EHR work queues and follows approved departmental processes.
