Job summary

Intermountain Health in American Fork, Utah, is seeking a Patient Service Representative to be the first connection with patients, greet and check in/out, and support care coordination. You will verify demographic data, assist with insurance information, and guide patients through billing steps in a busy healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Six months of customer service experience.
• Basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry.
• Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to protect privacy, confidentiality, and PHI of patients, members, and caregivers.
• Willingness to collaborate with patients and fellow caregivers to deliver the highest level of customer/patient satisfaction.
• Multilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide courteous and professional connections with patients by phone, in person, or secure messaging.
• Documents all phone calls accurately in the EMR.
• Schedules patient appointments for visits, procedures, diagnostics, referrals, and/or consultations.
• Registers patients by confirming and updating demographic data on registration system.
• Obtains copies of insurance cards and IDs; verifies information for insurance coordination of benefits.
• Assists patients in completing forms for regulatory and billing needs; educates on financial assistance; proactively requests payments.
• Stays current on duties via emails/newsletters and meetings to ensure high performance.
