Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a patient registration professional to accurately capture demographics, insurance and admission data across service lines. You will explain legal documents, assist with billing questions, and ensure smooth navigation for patients during the registration process.

The role covers coordination with patients and representatives, financial discussions, and ensuring timely data entry for billing and reporting in a fast-paced hospital setting in Utah.

Qualifications

• One year customer service experience within the last five years.
• One year negotiation or collection experience within the last three years.
• Ability to handle time-sensitive situations and prioritize.
• Proficient keyboarding and computer skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Verifies accuracy of EMPI link and identifies and reports possible Identity Theft.
• Interacts with patient/representative to gather and/or verify needed registration information.
• Inputs patient demographic, insurance, and essential admission information into a database for billing, reporting and analysis.
• Comprehends and provides explanation of legal documents in accordance to regulatory requirements.
• Articulates billing process information and provides way-finding as needed.
• Holds financial discussions with patients or representatives including insurance benefits, cost estimation, financial obligation, and identifying financial assistance needs.
• Communicates effectively to patients and representatives regarding wait times.
• Verifies Patient Identity and scans documents as appropriate.
