Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a PRN Patient Access Registrations Specialist I in Billings, MT. You will greet patients, verify demographics and insurance, register for appointments, collect payments, and guide patients through financial options, while maintaining privacy and accuracy in the electronic health system.

The role requires strong organization, multitasking, and excellent customer service in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet and email required.
Experience with Epic preferred.
Customer service experience, preferably in a healthcare setting, required.
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Greet and assist patients and visitors in a courteous, professional manner.
Obtain and verify patient demographic, financial and insurance information.
Register and schedule patients for appointments, tests and procedures.
Collect co-pays, deductibles and balances due at the time of service.
Provide information on financial assistance, payment plans and charity care.
Explain and obtain signatures on consent forms, policies and disclosures.
Provide directions, maps and parking information to patients.
Coordinate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure smooth patient flow.
Document and update patient records in the electronic health system.
Follow up on pending issues such as prior authorizations, referrals, and pre-certifications.
