Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a Patient Access Registration Specialist I to help register and schedule patients and visitors at Lutheran Hospital in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. You will collect demographics, verify insurance, collect co-pays, and support patient flow.

This role requires excellent customer service, strong computer skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment; prior Epic experience is a plus and a commitment to privacy and compliance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Epic experience preferred.
• Customer service experience in healthcare required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, internet and email.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients and visitors professionally.
• Obtain and verify patient demographic, financial, and insurance information.
• Register and schedule patients for appointments, tests and procedures.
• Collect co-pays, deductibles, and balances due.
• Provide information on financial assistance, payment plans, and charity care.
• Explain and obtain signatures on consent forms, policies and disclosures.
• Document and update patient records in the electronic health system.
• Follow up on pending issues such as prior authorizations and referrals.
