Job summary

Sanford Health in Bismarck, ND is seeking a Patient Access Representative to greet patients, register them, and schedule imaging appointments. You will coordinate with clinical staff to ensure timely access and provide exceptional customer service at the first point of contact.

This role handles verification of demographics and insurance information, authorizations, and referrals, while collecting copayments and guiding patients through the check-in process.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of work experience, preferably in a medical office setting.
• Medical terminology helpful; customer service skills essential.
• Six months' customer service experience desired.
• May require BLS for certain locations and/or settings.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and verify demographics.
• Create, scan, and route documents or electronic forms.
• Inform patients what the document is and capture signatures.
• Establish financial responsibility and assist with arrangements while following policies.
• Collect co-payments, pre-payments, and payments on account balances.
• May work through the registration work queue to resolve issues with registration or denied claims.
• Schedule appointments to meet patient needs and coordinate with providers.
• Obtain referrals and conduct pre-authorization.
• Arrange interpreter services and check patients in/out.
• Operate multi-line phone and act as switchboard when needed.
• Support recall management and telemedicine coordination as required.
• Assist with chart preparation and organization of provider documents.
