Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Answers, screens, and processes a high volume of calls in a professional manner.
• Triages calls and uses scripts to determine appointment type, provider, and urgency.
• Schedules appointments using a centralized scheduling system.
• Verifies and updates patient demographics and transfers to registration.
• Obtains referrals and documents payer information in the system.
• Provides pre-visit instructions and coordinates tests and procedures.
• Coordinates availability of services to optimize staffing and space.
• Resolves scheduling issues with the supervisor and communicates with providers.
