Job summary

Genesis HealthCare System is seeking a Patient Access & Scheduling Associate to greet patients, verify demographics and insurance, and guide them through the registration process. The role requires accuracy, strong communication, and a patient-centered approach to ensure smooth flow of care in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, healthcare registration experience, and the ability to work collaboratively with multiple departments to resolve issues

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior registration/billing experience is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and verify demographics and insurance information during registration.
• Determine service type and direct patients to the appropriate department to ensure timely care.
• Enter patient data into the accounting system and obtain necessary signatures.
• Collect co-pays, explain financial responsibilities, and provide receipts.
• Validate Medicare and other payer information for clinical and financial clearance.
• Obtain physician orders and scan documents into the system.
• Provide directions and parking/transportation information to patients and families.
• Coordinate with departments to maintain smooth patient flow and data integrity.
