Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network is hiring for a Registration Specialist to coordinate patient registration, verify insurance, and schedule appointments. You will conduct patient interviews by phone and in person, ensuring accurate demographic, insurance, and billing information while delivering a positive, welcoming experience.

Responsibilities include validating provider orders, scanning documents, collecting signatures, and guiding patients through financial options.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of customer service experience or equivalent.
• 1 year in a healthcare setting such as a hospital or physician office.
• Computer and typing proficiency required.
• Ability to interact with a diverse customer base, including emergencies.
• Must pass required training within two attempts or less.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients to collect demographic, insurance (referrals/authorizations), and scheduling information.
• Engage patients to provide a welcoming experience in person or by phone.
• Ensure orders match appointments and obtain new orders if needed.
• Scan insurance cards, scripts, IDs, and regulatory forms accurately.
• Obtain signatures for timely reimbursement and related consents.
• Estimate patient financial responsibility and refer to financial counseling when needed.
• Review daily schedule to identify conflicts and coordinate with staff for resolution.
• Maintain registration accuracy and compliance.
