Job summary

Sanford Health seeks a Patient Access Representative to deliver extraordinary patient service as the first point of contact, either over the phone or in clinic. You will greet patients, verify demographics, and guide them through forms and signatures in a welcoming, efficient setting.

You will handle registration, scheduling, referrals, pre-authorizations, and multi-line phone duties, coordinating with nurses and providers to meet patient needs and ensure accurate financial arrangements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Post-secondary education helpful.
• One year of work experience, preferably in a medical office setting.
• Medical terminology helpful; customer service skills essential.
• Six months' customer service experience desired.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and verify demographics.
• Create, scan and route documents or electronic forms.
• Inform patients what the document is and capture signatures on necessary paperwork.
• Establish and assign financial responsibility and assist with arrangements.
• Collect co-payments, pre-payments, and payments on account balances.
• May work through the registration work queue to address registration errors or denied insurance claims.
