Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; vocational medical office training desired.
• 1 year of medical office/hospital experience preferred, including eligibility/benefit analysis or scheduling for testing.
• Certification as Medical Assistant (CMA) may be required for some roles.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones and schedule appointments; pre-screen using triage skills.
• Verify insurance benefits and obtain authorizations as needed.
• Register patients with accurate demographic and financial data.
• Process insurance claims, denials, and payments; explain costs to patients.
• Coordinate with physicians and staff for referrals and tests.
• Maintain knowledge of payer regulations and privacy policies.
• Provide excellent customer service to patients and visitors.
