Job summary

Sanford Health is seeking a Patient Access Representative to register patients and schedule procedures in a hospital setting. The role requires greeting patients, verifying demographics, and guiding patients through paperwork while handling billing responsibilities and payments.

The position supports Oncology and involves coordinating referrals, pre-authorizations, and interpreter services. A high school diploma is preferred; BLS may be required at certain locations, with strong customer service

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Post-secondary education helpful.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients/residents and verify demographics to register and/or schedule.
• Create electronic files; provide, scan and route forms and documents.
• Educate patients/residents and capture signatures on paperwork.
• Establish financial responsibility and assist with arrangements; collect co-payments, pre-payments and balance payments.
• Schedule appointments and coordinate referrals; handle pre-authorization and interpreter services.
• Collaborate with nursing and providers to meet patient needs; operate multi-line phones.
• May coordinate charts, pre-payments, recall lists and chart prep.
• Maintain confidentiality and provide professional customer service.
