Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is seeking a Patient Access Representative to manage administrative duties in the patient intake process at our clinic. You will interact with patients in person and by phone, facilitating check-in/out, data collection, payments, insurance verification, scheduling, and referrals/authorizations.

You should demonstrate critical thinking, strong customer service, and knowledge of billing and medical terminology to ensure a seamless patient intake experience.

Qualifications

• One year of customer service work experience.
• Two years of customer service work experience (preferred).
• Healthcare or Call Center experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Registers and/or checks patients in/out.
• Performs patient check-in at the time of visit; records and verifies demographic and insurance information; follow procedures to ensure registration guidelines are met.
• Conducts routine insurance eligibility verifications.
• Copies/scans patient-related materials into the EMR.
• Records non-clinical charges from various sources (forms, deposits, etc.).
• Handles and reconciles payments.
