Advocate Health is seeking a part-time revenue cycle support specialist to assist with patient registration, insurance verification, and scheduling coordination across the Southeast. This varied schedule role supports admissions, pre-certifications, and coordination with departments to ensure timely authorization and payment arrangements.

The position emphasizes accuracy, strong communication, and customer service in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Knowledge of patient registration, insurance, and hospital billing preferred.
• Medical terminology knowledge and understanding of third party reimbursement preferred.
• Excellent communication skills and customer services skills required.

Responsibilities

• Registers or pre-registers all scheduled patients for admission, partial hospitalization, and outpatient services.
• Verifies insurance coverage and obtains authorization for all services that requires authorization, pre-certification, and/or referral.
• Coordinates with patients and scheduling departments to reschedule procedures until authorization or patient payment can be arranged.
• Updates schedule for cancellations, rescheduling, and other changes on an ongoing basis.
