Advocate Health is seeking a patient access professional to greet and register patients, verify insurance, and collect payments with accuracy and care. You will schedule appointments, manage changes to the schedule, and inform patients about test preparations and arrival times.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year in customer service within healthcare, familiarity with payer rules, and strong computer and communication skills.

Formación

• Knowledge of third-party payers and pre-authorization requirements.
• Understanding of medical terminology and procedures for referrals and precertification.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with patients, staff, and physicians.
• Proficient with computers, MS Office, and email; strong data entry skills.
• Customer service mindset with attention to accuracy and efficiency.

Responsabilidades

• Greet patients and visitors, answer calls, and collect demographic and insurance data.
• Verify coverage, collect co-pays/deductibles, post payments, and update records.
• Schedule appointments, manage cancellations, and provide test preparation instructions.
• Obtain precertifications by contacting carriers and coordinating with physicians.
• Educate patients and staff on referrals, payer requirements, and changes in coverage.
• Assist with payment plans, financial options, and resolving account inquiries.
• Ensure compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payer policies.
