Qualifications

• Medical terminology knowledge and understanding of third party reimbursement preferred.
• Excellent communication skills and customer service skills required.
• Must be able to key 40 wpm.

Responsibilities

• Registers or pre-registers all scheduled patients for admission, partial hospitalization, and outpatient services.
• Verifies insurance coverage and obtains authorization for services that require authorization, pre-certification, and/or referral.
• Coordinates with patients and scheduling departments to reschedule procedures until authorization or payment is arranged.
• Requests upfront payment of deposits from responsible party.
• Updates schedule for cancellations and changes on an ongoing basis.
