Advocate Health is seeking a detail-oriented Registration Specialist to support patient admissions across multiple services. You will pre-register patients, verify coverage, and obtain necessary authorizations to ensure smooth scheduling.

This role requires accuracy, strong communication, and the ability to work with billing teams to resolve insurance issues. A High School diploma is required, with a Bachelor's degree preferred, and a 40 wpm typing speed.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of patient registration, insurance, and hospital billing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Registers or Pre-registers all scheduled patients for admission, partial hospitalization, and outpatient services.
• Verifies insurance coverage and obtains authorization for all services that requires authorization, pre-certification, and/or referral.
• Coordinates with patients and scheduling departments to reschedule procedures until authorization or patient payment can be arranged. Requests upfront payment of deposits from responsible party.
• Updates schedule for cancellations, rescheduling, and other changes on an ongoing basis.
