Job summary

Mercyhealth seeks an experienced Patient Access professional to manage scheduling, referrals, authorizations, insurance verification, and registration while ensuring accurate patient and coverage information. The role emphasizes healthcare Revenue Cycle processes and payer requirements with a focus on resolving pre-service issues and identifying financial resources.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Two years of customer service experience preferred.
• Two years of healthcare registration, scheduling, or physicians' office experience required.
• Healthcare revenue cycle knowledge or related certification is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Pre-register all scheduled visits and ensure authorization before service date.
• Process referrals/authorizations/pre-certifications in Mercy systems.
• Answer calls, schedule visits, and route to appropriate departments as needed.
• Register new and returning patients via Mercy systems to ensure payment for services.
• Communicate with providers and payers to obtain eligibility and benefits for services.
