Virginia Commonwealth University Health Systems seeks a Patient Access Representative to deliver frontline service, register patients for appointments, verify insurance, and collect co-pays. You will coordinate referrals and pre-payment guidance while supporting financial counseling and ensuring data accuracy.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, scheduling, data entry, and electronic document management within a high-volume clinical environment.

Formación

• Experience using computers and standard software in a healthcare setting.
• Familiarity with medical terminology is a plus.
• Ability to learn electronic registration/billing systems quickly.

Responsabilidades

• Greet patients and answer phones with courteous, professional communication.
• Collect co-pays, verify demographics and insurance data at registration.
• Obtain referrals/authorizations and explain payment expectations to patients.
• Schedule appointments, transcribe orders, and coordinate lab/tests.
• Maintain patient records and ensure accurate data entry.
• Scan documents and support miscellaneous department tasks.
• Adhere to policies, manage cash handling, and assist with financial counseling.
