Qualifications

• HS/GED required, Associate degree preferred.
• 1 year physician practice experience preferred; on-site training provided (at least one week).
• Experience with a practice management or patient registration system is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and updates insurance/demographic information in the practice management system.
• Conducts pre-registration and gathers registration and financial information for patient encounters.
• Answers phones, schedules and reschedules appointments, and confirms visits with patients.
• Performs full check-in, verifies demographics and insurance, and explains self-pay policy to patients.
• Collects co-pays and assists with charge entries and daily cash deposits as directed.
• Facilitates prior authorization and schedules diagnostic testing when requested by providers.
• Monitors waiting room status, communicates wait times, and coordinates with other departments.
• Ensures regulatory compliance with HIPAA and other PHI handling requirements.
