Job summary

This role ensures accurate demographic data, manages referrals and pre-authorizations, and supports front-desk operations with courtesy and professionalism.

Office hours are 8am–4:30pm, full-time, with opportunities to grow in patient services within the McLaren Health network.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of experience in a customer service role or health care industry.
• Preferred: experience with CPT and ICD-10 coding and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Obtains required patient demographic and insurance information for McLaren Health.
• Provides courteous and efficient pre-registration services and documents/verifies patient information.
• Provides physician and/or diagnostic appointment scheduling.
• Maintains knowledge of insurance and authorization requirements; performs real-time insurance verification.
• Informs patient of insurance requirements for services (authorizations/pre-certifications and referrals).
• Estimates and collects copays, deductibles, and other patient financial obligations.
• Handles inbound and outbound calls to grow business and enhance patient access to McLaren Health services.
• Maintains professionalism and diplomacy per department standards.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
