Penn Medicine is seeking a detail-oriented registration specialist to ensure accurate patient registration, scheduling, and insurance verification across hospital and physician office services. Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of clerical, customer service experience in a high-volume setting.
• At least 1 year of registration, insurance validation and order release experience.
• Previous Epic or similar EMR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides complete patient scheduling, registration, insurance verification, ordering of tests and coordination of services.
• Handles inbound/outbound calls and manages patient questions and concerns professionally.
• Verifies insurance coverage and pre-authorization requirements; performs electronic/manual coverage checks.
• Documents in the electronic health record and releases records/orders per procedures.
• Supports regional sites with travel as needed; assists at new practices during onboarding.
• Maintains compliance with regulatory requirements and handles messaging for urgent and non-urgent calls.

Education

H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)

1 year of clerical/customer service experience

1 year experience with registration, insurance validation, and order release processes

Epic or equivalent Electronic Medical Record experience
