Job summary

Penn Medicine Downtown Family Medicine in Lancaster, PA is hiring for a Full-time onsite Patient Access/Registration role. The position focuses on patient registration, scheduling, insurance verification, and coordination of required tests and services.

Responsibilities include handling high-volume queues, addressing patient inquiries, collecting payments, and facilitating smooth referrals and order releases within Epic EMR. Previous revenue cycle experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• 1+ years’ clerical, customer service, or administrative support experience in a highly customer-service oriented organization.
• 1+ years experience basic keyboarding, personal computer use, and other office setting equipment.
• Epic or equivalent Electronic Medical Record experience (preferred).
• 1+ years registration experience, point of service collection, insurance validation, understanding of compliance/regulatory guidelines and order release processes (preferred).
• 1+ years experience of Revenue Cycle in a hospital/medical office setting.

Responsibilities

• Performs complete and accurate patient registration including walk-in, check-in, and scheduled visits.
• Supports inbound and outbound calls to provide services; manages general patient complaints professionally.
• Verifies patient, guarantor, coverage and hospital account information; processes referrals/authorizations.
• Prepares and releases records or orders in the e-Health record; scans documents and ensures timely transmission to records management.
• Demonstrates ability to work during high volumes and with complex patients; adheres to regulatory requirements.
• Assists with financial clearance and explains co-pays and out-of-pocket expenses.
