Job summary

Penn Medicine is seeking an experienced Customer Service Representative with healthcare administration and revenue cycle experience to join our Lancaster team. This on-site role supports patient access, insurance verification, and financial clearance in a fast-paced environment.

You will register patients, verify benefits, collect copays, and enter information into the EMR, while maintaining HIPAA compliance and delivering excellent customer service to patients and families.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year of patient registration experience.
• 1+ year of clerical, administrative, or customer service experience.
• 1+ year of healthcare revenue cycle experience.
• Experience with insurance verification and authorization processing.
• Experience collecting patient copays and financial obligations.
• Previous Epic or equivalent EMR/EHR experience.
• Strong computer, keyboarding, and data-entry skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Register, check in, and schedule patients accurately.
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits.
• Obtain referrals and authorizations.
• Process patient financial clearance and collect copays.
• Manage inbound and outbound patient calls.
• Enter and release orders within the EMR.
• Maintain and scan patient documentation into medical records.
• Resolve registration errors and work queue issues.
• Escalate patient concerns appropriately.
• Support high-volume patient access operations.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and regulatory requirements.
