PRISM Vision Group is seeking a Patient Services Representative for NJRetina in Lakewood, NJ. This full-time, non-exempt role supports patient access, schedules appointments, handles registrations, and guides patients through their care journey.

The PSR will verify insurance, manage patient communications, and provide upfront financial counseling while ensuring HIPAA compliance and excellent customer service across multiple platforms.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• 2+ years in a patient-facing healthcare or customer service role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and complete full patient registrations accurately per policies.
• Initiate pre-registration and verify demographic and insurance information.
• Verify insurance, benefits, and referrals; obtain IDs and insurance cards; confirm patient identity.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and protect patient privacy.
• Smooth patient flow through the clinical care process.
• Provide appointment and payment policy information; assist with records and parking details.
• Offer upfront financial counseling and discuss payment plans with patients.
• Inform patients of financial obligations and collect funds per guidelines.
• Act as liaison for patients, physicians, and staff; identify and resolve care barriers.
• Notify relevant parties about appointment times, referrals, and approvals.
• Train other PSRs and maintain high customer service standards.
• Adhere to company policies and SOPs.
