Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is seeking a Patient Access Representative in the Puget Sound area. You will manage patient intake, perform check-ins, verify demographics and insurance, schedule appointments, and handle referrals and authorizations with accuracy and courtesy.

Your daily duties involve data collection, payment processing, and ensuring a smooth patient experience while applying knowledge of billing, insurance, and medical terminology.

Qualifications

• One year of customer service work experience.
• Two years of customer service work experience (preferred).
• Healthcare or Call Center experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Registers and/or checks patients in/out.
• Performs patient check-in at visit; records and verifies demographic and insurance information; follows procedures and escalates issues as needed.
• Conducts routine insurance eligibility verifications.
• Copies/scans patient materials into the electronic medical record.
• Records non-clinical charges and related payments.
• Handles and reconciles payments.
